Fantastic post by the way! Thanks!
This reminds me so much of my own father. Entrepreneurship is the only way. If you teach your children entrepreneurship they will never go hungry! Fantastic talk.
As an educator who has spent the last 15 years in elementary culture, it seems to me that this guy makes one assumption after another about broadcast culture today. My suggestion is to spend some time volunteering in a classroom or two so you have basis (other than personal experience only) for your stance.
Loved it.
I do reckon we need to encourage kids to be creativite thinkers and self-starters. At the same time, kids also need to learn how to work with others and work with “the system”. Entrepreneurial emphasis, carried to an extreme, could become radical individualism with no regard for community. In the end, what makes a peson make it is his or her ability to work well with others, regardless of whether one is an employee or an entrepreneur.
Wow!!! This is wild!!! Especially for kids who struggle in school!!! Check it out!!
I can see so many of those traits in my 12 year ancient son. Thank you for this. It is an eye opener! God Bless You!
@nathanday01 Nathan – thanks for this note – Focus, Belief & Effort now – and you can nail any biz you want to build.
Fantastic speech Cameron! Very inspiring, Dad did a excellent job motivating all of us as kids and i’m so thankful for that and hope to pass that along to my kids. I will certainly be passing along this vid for viewing to all my friends with kids also! loved it
Yeah all wonders why I dread homelessness so much. They don’t know, a job is it’s not an option. It’s boom or bust, always has been… both, really..
Yeah all wonders why I dread homelessness so much. They don’t know, “job” is a four letter word, and it’s not an option. It’s boom and/or bust, both, really.
I reckon he misses an aspect of this shape up. It’s the distinction linking the visionary entrepreneurial type and the purely monetary type. The type that hes discussing is the more ordinary type, The arbitrage entrepreneur. The visionary, would never LOVE a startup that produced only arbitrage. It’s a much higher risk affliction.
awesome!
@nwright46 12+ years of personal experience in the broadcast culture system is example enough for most of us. Google schoolsucksproject.
brilliant, thank you!
Incredible. I never released that kids could do so much!
im the same way. btw i feel like some people are using this as an excuse for being kinda dumb…
EVERY parent needs to take the time to watch this video!
It took me til I was a grandmother before I found out that it was a blessing, not a curse, to have the spirit of an entrepreneur.
Thank you for this! How encouraging for this mom of a newly diagnosed ADHD boy. Now I know why at 4 he sold fascinating rocks he found around our place to anyone he met in order to buy the water gun he wanted in June (a month before his birthday). I shouldn’t scold his impatience, but applaud his tenacity!
I reckon the main message is: Teach kids to be creative. Imagination is more valuable than knowledge – Einstein said that.
Whether you’re an entrepreneur or not – creativity is the key. In my world, entrepreneurs were evil people full of greed. So we were effectively taught to stay as far away from that as doable – not by explicit rules, but by much more powerful myths and tales. Reckon Mr. Burns.
And drugging kids is dumb which *should* be evident.

This is a fantastic video!
Awesome vid… I was one of those kids in the late 80′s early 90′s that was on ritalin and prozac etc. etc. I’m now 32 and finally being creative about trying to make money. I’m not the “worker bee”… I can’t do it. I can’t sit in an office. I wish my parents had seen this vid when I was a kid.
@freezazoid you’re only 32… you can start now
Running your own biz is a blast.
@orthorim I’d just like people to see that entrepreneurship is as pleased as all the other professions out there too…
@cameronherold Thanks for the encouragement. I need to start thinking the glass is half full and realize I’m still pretty young… and not that I missed out on my teens and twenties to get my but in gear. Thanks.
