How do I keep from procrastinating all the time?

Posted By: Lo

Whеn I was younger, I used to always get all of my school work done the moment I got іt. I used to go home and get right on іt. Bυt now, I keep putting it off and then when I go to finally do it I of course don’t want to and rυѕh through it or get an attitude about іt. Hοw can I ѕtοр procrastinating? It’s getting very irritating!

From the sounds of it, you need some sort of authoritative threat in order to do your work. When you’re a child, if you don’t do your work you are told off by the teacher. But, as we grow up, we learn that if we want something done we do it, and if we don’t do it the only self who suffers is us – there is no one there to tell us off for not doing something.

Perhaps you can get one of your friends to treat/punish you if you do/don’t do work? Or get your parent to ring you when you should be doing work and get them to tell you off or just to tell you what is so terrible about not doing your work.

Another problem with modern day life is the addition of social media which we have grown into – even 5 years ago we wouldn’t have had a need to feel constantly connected, but with Facebook and Twitter it’s hard to stay away. There aren’t really any steps you can take to stop yourself going on these websites (unless you want to block them or stop your computer receiving Internet), it’s just a matter of self-restraint.

I disagree with doing the toughest task first. I ordinarily like to knock down the simple stuff so I can focus on the hard stuff. And, it makes me feel like I have less to do when I get all the small stuff done.
Also, I disagree with doing projects with other people. I do my hw better when I’m alone.
Other than that, hope this helps!
